Tree adoption project in collaboration with the Rural Youth Initiative for Development (RYID) in Uganda
They say "A man is as good as his tools." Green Impact International (GII) embarked on this tree adoption project in collaboration with the Rural Youth Initiative for Development (RYID) in Uganda, led by Masereke Williams. 20 improved fruit trees 🌱, some gardening tools were adopted by 20 families. This was done to help in conserving the environment as one of our goals is to make the young generation environmentally active at an early stage. This was also done to support local food security, family togetherness and environmental conservation.

World Environment Day 2018
Green Impact team Nigeria hosted a variety of events across Nigeria to commemorate the 2018 world environment day. A radiosensitization and quiz program was hosted at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta FM radio, also a number of workshops were held at three selected secondary schools in Lagos State . Another workshop was staged at the University of Port-Harcourt where a total number of 50 secondary school students, 24 youth corps members and 35 students of the university (undergraduate/graduate/post graduate) and a few general public individuals were present.
Step-up Green Project
The project reached 50 schools and a population of 1025 students were sensitized and inducted as young green ambassadors. mini green gardens were established in ten selected schools and were provided with essential garden tools. A follow-up program was also set up to ensure sustainability. The project enabled the training of 100 youth trainers and the distribution of 1025 young ones can save the planet book. The coordination of the GEFTY Youth Council [GEFTY (Green Empowerment for the Youth)
A project of the First Lady of Ogun State, Nigeria, Her Excellency, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun. This project included the training of 57 youths from the 20-local government areas in Ogun state, Nigeria on environmental responsibility and climate change education. We also facilitated the distribution and planting of 10,000 tree seedlings across the Abeokuta, the Capital city of Ogun State.

Clean and Green Project in partnership with Hacey Health Initiative with support from Walter Carrington youth fellowship of the US consulate in Nigeria.
This program enabled the training of youth facilitators who were attached to 10 secondary schools in Lagos state to carry out sensitization sessions on personal hygiene and environmental health. A total of 80 students participated and three vegetable gardens were established.

Coordinating organization for Action 2015 global campaign in Ogun State, Nigeria
2015 was the launch year for the sustainable development goals and as the state coordinating organization for climate and sustainable development network of Nigeria, we had the responsibility of initiating local actions to create awareness about the SDGS in Abeokuta, Nigeria. The program was designed to empower young people to reach out to leaders in their communities in order to influence local actions that will reflect the objectives of the SDGs. The organization worked with selected 25youth ambassadors and facilitated their meetings with notable leaders within their respective communities.

Raise the Green Wall Program in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
This project was carried out in support of the local action of one of the volunteers of the organization in his hometown, Ile-Ife. The project was tailored to involve a sensitization program on climate change with the locals with a convergence at the king’s palace. 21 council of elders were sensitized, and this further gave us the privilege to address a collection of people from different communities in the town. A community-wide tree planting program was also initiated and a total of 100 fruit trees were distributed to families in order to support food security.
Earth Day 2013
Green impact marked the Earth day in the city of Abeokuta, Nigeria with lots of Earthmoving
events and which included:
*An on-air awareness radio-interview at a local broadcasting outfit, Rock city FM, Abeokuta,
Nigeria
*Public march and display of commemorative placards at the city center
* Street wide tree planting campaign
*Public reading of our defined declaration and the distribution of disposal bins
All events were directed in the regards of motivating to action the general public to their
respective duties of care and protection for the earth.
Climate Action day Nigeria,2012
was organized by Zero Carbon Africa, a Non-profit coalition of youth activist in the stand against the negative impact of climate change. Green Impact was part of the representing organization in the campaign which took place in the mainlands of Lagos State, Nigeria. Major youth climate activists from across the country were gathered at the event amongst whom- Zaid Shopeju( Project Director, Zero carbon Africa), Abiodun Odunuga( Zero carbon Africa) Titi Kazeem( 21st century Issue) and Bamidele Oni( project Director, Green Impact International)
